Wine Tasting Itineraries
Bordeaux Blonde’s Picks: South end of the Silverado Trail
Use this route in the Trip Planner
View MapExploring the southern section of the Silverado Trail can be a fun and rewarding wine-tasting adventure in Napa Valley. Here are some places I recommend:
First on our list is Silverado Vineyards, perched on a hilltop overlooking Silverado Trail. The winery boasts over 300 acres of vineyards and some of the most well-known wine from Napa Valley. A random fun fact for fellow Disney fans is that the winery was created by Lilian Disney, her daughter and son-in-law. In the tasting room, you will find tributes to the Disney family. My recommendation? Silverado Vineyards’ 2018 Chardonnay.
Also on Silverado Trail and located in the iconic Stags Leap District is Pine Ridge Vineyards. They produce distinguished Cabernet Sauvignon. The winery has also just revealed its newly remodeled indoor and outdoor tasting areas for guests. In addition, they host private tastings in their amazing wine caves that are beautifully decorated. Pick up a bottle of 2019 Stags Leap Cabernet Sauvignon while you are there!
To complete your day of wine tasting, head over to another Stags Leap District resident, Clos du Val. The winery has a rich history and is known for its role in helping Napa Valley gain recognition in the famous “Judgement of Paris” that featured their 1972 Cabernet Sauvignon. I have had the opportunity to attend many events and tasting experiences at their new tasting room and it is still one of my favorite wineries to go to. I highly suggest picking up a bottle of their new Bordeaux blend, Yettalil.
