About Us
Etude’s founding philosophy is that winemaking begins in the vineyard long before the harvest and that inspired grape growing diminishes the need for intervention by the winemaker, resulting in an authentic expression of the varietal. This philosophy is brought to life on the Etude Estate Vineyards, tucked away in the far northwest corner of the esteemed Carneros Appellation, close to the elegant state-of-the art winery and tasting room. Etude’s celebrated Pinot Noirs and its small production of Pinot Gris, Pinot Blanc, Rosé of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay are vinified from grapes grown on the Estate while the opulent Cabernet Sauvignon is from vineyards in the prime Cabernet zone, representing the major benchland sub-appellations of Napa Valley – Oakville, Rutherford, St. Helena, Coombsville, and Calistoga. The consistent high quality of the grapes Etude grows and sources, combined with the skill and experience of the winemaking team, explains why Etude is recognized as one of America’s premier artisan wineries.

Tasting Experience
CELEBRATING 40 YEARS OF EXCELLENCE
Discover the range of limited production, winery-exclusive Etude wines in the relaxed atmosphere of our light-filled Carneros tasting room. Established in 1982, Etude Winery was built on a legacy of crafting expressive Pinot Noir from classic cool-climate regions along the Pacific Coast from Oregon to Santa Barbara that showcase elegant fruit, beautiful structure and above all, terroir. Explore the boldness and complexity of our own Carneros estate vineyard-designate Pinot Noirs that arise from the truly unique landscape of Grace Benoist Ranch at the foot of the Sonoma mountains. Complementing the Pinot Noirs are rich, plush and legacy Cabernet Sauvignon wines from renowned vineyards planted along the coveted foothills of Napa Valley’s classic Cabernet regions such as Rutherford, Oakville and Coombsville.
Etude also crafts small productions of all-estate sparkling Blanc de Noirs, Pinot Gris, Pinot Blanc, Rose of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay that showcase the same purity of fruit and clarity of terroir as our legacy reds.
The Etude experience will appeal to wine lovers seeking to taste the best of Napa Valley in a single location.
We are open daily by appointment only, 10 AM - 5 PM. In celebration of four decades of excellence, join us for a new, limited time 40th Anniversary Perspective Tasting featuring limited-availability vintage and current release Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Cabernet. We also offer a classic Collector's Tasting that features the range of Etude wines, and our popular Private Tailored Experience for a more custom and exclusive tasting experience in one of two private spaces.
