Premiere Napa Valley Wines
SODHANI Vineyards is a family owned 12 acre hillside vineyard with 6.5 acres planted in St Helena blessed with a unique terroir making limited releases of phenomenal, hand-crafted Cabernet Sauvignon wines by one of the world's top winemakers, Thomas Rivers Brown.
The vineyard is nestled in the dense forest in the foothills of Spring Mountain in the St. Helena appellation with sweeping views of the Vaca Mountains across the valley. Perched at a 400 ft elevation with six and a half steeply, sloping acres of the rarest of volcanic Aiken Stoney Clay loam soil makes Sodhani Vineyards the perfect terroir for exceptional Cabernet Sauvignon. The vines, planted in 2000, with clones 7, 15, and 337 each have their own varietal characteristics and are in full maturity producing spectacular fruit. When those 3 clones come together in the finished wine, they make a powerful, classic Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon.
Facing eastside of the valley, the shade from the forest and the mountain cool the vines earlier in the evening allowing better acid development instead of excessive sugar; the ideal micro-climate for Cabernet with hot days and cool nights.
Due to the steep slope the vineyard is entirely hand farmed throughout the year and meticulously hand harvested before dawn so the fruit arrives at the winery in pristine condition. Harvesting is performed in four different picks based on the perfect ripeness of each block. Only the flawless grapes are selected using the optical sorter and then aged in 100% new French oak barrels for 20 months.
Our winemaker Thomas Rivers Brown painstakingly produces gorgeous wines for us which are the true and perfect representation of our terroir. Everything we do is in pursuit of delivering perfection in the bottle and we make no compromises at any step of the winemaking.
