Schrader Cellars was founded in 1998 by Fred Schrader, who set out to craft Cabernet Sauvignon with a single-minded focus on quality and provenance. Thomas Rivers Brown joined Schrader Cellars as winemaker in 2000. That same year, Fred Schrader, inspired by a barrel sample that changed the course of his life, tracked down fruit from To Kalon Vineyard – which remains the focus of sourcing for the Schrader Cellars portfolio of Cabernet Sauvignon. 

As Schrader Cellars has evolved and grown over the course of two decades, we have continued to distinguish ourselves by imposing the highest standards of winemaking and sourcing in our pursuit of producing Cabernet Sauvignon that captures the essence of the best vineyards in Napa Valley. Schrader Cellars has come to be regarded as one of Napa’s best producers of Cabernet Sauvignon and hardest-to-get allocations. Our wines, with their hallmark style that balances a modern sensibility with non-interventionalist winemaking, are unabashedly generous while never tipping over into excess, maintaining a focus on balance, purity and structure.
