Perched at 1,349 feet on a secluded mountaintop in the western reaches of Pritchard Hill, OVID. Napa Valley is a continuous experiment in terroir. Our organically farmed, fifteen-acre estate vineyard is planted in one-acre blocks with Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Petit Verdot, and Syrah. Iron-rich volcanic soils, abundant sunshine, and native chaparral flora yield focused, long-lived wines that express a true sense of place. Alongside our four estate wines, we produce limited-release Experiment wines—unique, one-time bottlings that reflect the spirit of exploration at the heart of OVID.

Named for the Roman poet whose Metamorphoses explores themes of transformation, OVID blends classical inspiration with modern precision. Winemaker Austin Peterson, who joined the team in 2006 and has led winemaking since 2010, continues to evolve the estate’s style through disciplined innovation. Since partnering with Silver Oak’s David Duncan in 2017, OVID has remained true to its roots while embracing new resources that reflect a shared commitment to sustainability, technology, and excellence.
