About Us
Joseph Phelps Vineyards is committed to crafting world class, estate grown wines. Founded in 1973 when Joe Phelps purchased a former cattle ranch in Spring Valley near St. Helena, the winery now controls and farms over 400 acres of vines in St. Helena, Stags Leap District, Oakville, Rutherford, Oak Knoll District, South Napa Valley and Carneros. Phelps is best known for its flagship blend of red Bordeaux varietals, Insignia, first produced in 1974. Our wines include Insignia, Cabernet Sauvignon, Sauvignon Blanc, Viognier, Syrah and a dessert wine called Delice. We offer a variety of wine tasting and culinary experiences by appointment.

Tasting Experience
Welcome to Joseph Phelps Vineyards. We offer outdoor wine and tasting experiences Wednesday – Sunday by prior appointment with enhanced safety protocols. Please call the winery at 800-707-5789 or email a request to schedule.
To provide a safe, relaxing, and intimate experience for our guests, all visitors must be at least 21 years of age. Infants and children are no longer permitted at the winery. Also, please note that only certified service animals are allowed on property. We cannot accommodate pets. Thank you for understanding.
