About Us
Set in the heart of Napa Valley, at Rutherford Cross Estate, sits a historic 1872 brick Post Office that is home to one of Rutherford’s best-kept secrets, Elizabeth Spencer. Tucked behind the building is an enchanted and serene setting that unveils the epitome of hospitality and award-winning wines. From the wines of Rutherford to exploring Northern California’s other appellations and varietals to the magical ambiance of Rutherford’s secret garden, a sense of discovery awaits.
Founded in 1998, Elizabeth Spencer debuted with a Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon that has been produced every year since. In 2006, the tasting room, located in the historic 1872 brick Post Office, opened in Rutherford, CA where we continue to receive guests daily. In 2021, Elizabeth Spencer joined Boisset Collection where it continues its legacy and vision under the leadership of Jean-Charles Boisset and his renowned female-led team.
With an unending commitment to Rutherford, awaken the senses to the discovery of enchanting experiences, hospitality, and a journey through award-winning wines from different appellations and varietals while focusing on crafting pristine, pure and precise wines.

Tasting Experience
The Elizabeth Spencer Tasting Room is located at 1165 Rutherford Road (Highway 128) in Rutherford, Napa Valley, and is open Wednesday through Monday from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm. Reservations are recommended. Private Tastings, Wine and Artisan Cheese Pairings, Wine and Chocolate tastings, Blind Tastings, and bottle service on the Rutherford Green can be made by prior appointment.

The Cottage at Elizabeth Spencer is available for intimate sit-down tastings hosted by one of our Wine Educators.
Elizabeth Spencer is also home to the Kathleen Thompson Hill Kitchen Memories Collection, one of the largest exhibits of culinary relics in the United States and a first of its kind at a California winery - a must not miss experience!
