About Us
The Arrow&Branch name pays homage to the Contursi Family’s success in the rare coin business, U.S. coinage and Americana. Found on the reverse of most United States coinage is an eagle holding arrows and an olive branch in its talons. This design signifies the United States as a peace-loving nation and country’s ability to defend itself if that peace and freedom should be compromised.
Arrow&Branch exists to showcase Napa Valley’s finest vineyard sites and the wines that come from them. We source our fruit from unique and exquisite vineyard sites, such as Vine Hill Ranch, Beckstoffer Dr. Crane and To Kalon, Arrow&Branch, Meteor, Vine Hill Ranch and Stagecoach. These vineyards are all noted for having exceptional Napa Valley terroir. We seek to make wines with precision, power and elegance, but most importantly, true to the vineyards they come from.
The new Arrow&Branch Winery is located in the Oak Knoll District on the west side of Hwy 29 about two miles south of Yountville.
The five acre Arrow&Branch Estate Vineyard is tucked into an area northeast of the City of Napa, on a slice of hallowed land known as Tulocay, which is part of the larger American Viticultural Area (AVA) of Coombsville. Tulocay refers to the Native American villagers who once inhabited this small valley. Today, the horseshoe-shaped valley of Tulocay describes a viticultural zone, distinct from its neighbors in Napa County in a number of important ways. Like Carneros, its neighbor to the south, Tulocay benefits from the cooling breezes drawn in through the Golden Gate. It is in Tulocay, however, that the morning fog burns off much sooner, and cool breezes sweep through the vineyard on late summer afternoons, slowing the ripening and encouraging flavor and character development in the grapes. This microclimate, combined with its Coombs Gravelly Loam soils, is quite distinct from both the valley floor and mountain appellations of the Napa Valley.
Besides our own vineyard, we purchase Napa's highest quality grapes from Arrow&Branch, Beckstoffer To Kalon, Beckstoffer Dr. Crane, Stagecoach, Meteor vineyards, Lady Liberty, Vine Hill Ranch and other important properties in the valley.
