Alta Napa Valley was founded with a mission to craft wines that exceed expectations. It began in 2008 with the discovery of the 90+ acre ALTA Vineyard, perched atop Atlas Peak. The site’s potential was immediately clear, inspiring a commitment to sustainable vineyard practices and minimal intervention winemaking.

Since 2009, ALTA has been the sole supplier of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot to Kongsgaard Wines. Producing fewer than 2,000 cases annually, Alta focuses on small-lot, handcrafted wines that reflect the unique character of Napa Valley. The inaugural vintage, the 2009 “Oso Malo” Cabernet Sauvignon, quickly sold out, setting the stage for expansion.

In 2017, Alta added the 22-acre Riverside Vineyard along Silverado Trail. Planted in 2018, it now supplies grapes for their Quatreaux Red Wine Blend and Revival Cabernet Sauvignon. Through dedication to the land and meticulous vineyard management, Alta continues to produce wines of exceptional quality.
